The SIG Sauer P226 40th Anniversary Limited Edition is a 9mm DA/SA pistol with a metal frame, black Nitron finish, 4.4″ barrel, SIGLITE night sights, and retro Hogue alloy grips. It includes two 15-round magazines, vintage packaging, and a limited-edition “History of the P226” booklet.

The Sig Sauer P226 R Elite is a full-size 9mm pistol known for its combat-proven reliability and elite-level performance. Originally developed for military trials, the P226 has since been adopted by top-tier military and law enforcement units. This model features a 4.4-inch carbon steel barrel, alloy frame with black hard-coat anodized finish, and a stainless steel Nitron-finished slide. It includes SIGLITE night sights and is optics-ready straight out of the box, offering tactical flexibility. The double-action/single-action trigger system with a standard curved trigger ensures smooth operation, while the SIG rail, two 15-round magazines, and E2 grip enhance usability for defense or duty use.

SIG Sauer P226 Legion

The SIG Sauer P226 LEGION combines the established P226 platform with a range of LEGION-specific features, including a Cerakote Elite LEGION Gray finish, custom G-10 grips with LEGION medallion, and SIG SAUER X-RAY high-visibility day/night sights. The configuration includes three magazines.

P226 LEGION DA/SA

The DA/SA P226 LEGION features a reduced and contoured Elite beavertail designed to provide a higher grip while maintaining a reduced profile. More aggressive front strap checkering and additional texturing beneath the trigger guard provide added grip contact.

An X-Five-style undercut trigger guard allows the shooting hand to sit higher on the frame. Front cocking serrations provide additional purchase when manipulating the slide.

The DA/SA configuration is available in 9mm and incorporates low-profile decocking and slide-catch levers designed to reduce the possibility of snagging. The polished action includes SIG’s SRT (Short Reset Trigger) system, paired with a Grayguns P-SAIT trigger. A solid steel guide rod adds additional weight to the front of the pistol.

P226 LEGION RX SAO

The P226 LEGION RX SAO carries the same LEGION feature set in a single-action-only configuration. It adds a SIG Custom Works flat trigger designed to provide a consistent trigger interface across different finger positions.

The SAO configuration is available in 9mm.

Manual Safety Options

The P226 LEGION platform is available in configurations with or without a manual safety, depending on the specific model.

A manual safety is designed to mechanically prevent the firearm from discharging when engaged and the trigger is pressed. It is an additional mechanical feature and does not replace fundamental firearm-safety practices.

Regardless of configuration, safe handling requires keeping the trigger clear of unintended contact and following applicable firearm-safety procedures at all times.
